Q: Why in the Linux console key combinations with SHIFT/CTRL not recognized?
A: Maybe you run MultiTextor from Midnight commander. Try to run editor directly from SHELL.
Q: Why editor doesn't execute some command by specified key combination?
A: Maybe some key combinations don't recognized in your environment at all. Try to call this command by alternative way or specify custom key combination for this command (see keyboard customization).
Q: How to switch off the file auto save mode?
A: Set parameter Autosave time to 0 in the Settings dialogue.
Q: How to switch off the log files creating?
A: Set parameter LogCount to 0 in the configuration file m.ini.
Tips
There is short name m (small Latin letter m) for running from command line. It's implemented as BAT file in MS Windows and as a symbolic link in UNIX.
It's possible to run editor direct in file comparison mode. Input in the command line "m -d file1 file2" for that.
